Attic Black-Figure Lip Cup (Tondo)

Within the tondo: youth and bearded reveler, both naked, running to the right. The man looks back and is adorned with two garlands (added white), one around his neck, the other over his left arm.

The lip of the cup is offset on the interior and lightly tooled on the exterior. There is a reserved line on the inside of the lip; the edge itself is black. On the exterior, there is one black line, just below the offset of the lip. Handle A/B is black, B/A black on the outside only. Below the handle zone, the black lower part of the bowl is divided by a narrow reserved band. The bottom of the bowl is black, as is the exterior of the foot, save for its edge. Inside, the lip and bowl are black, except for the tondo. Around the tondo, a band of tongues, separated by relief line, bordered by two pairs of glaze lines.
