On the body: Ajax and Cassandra. On the left, Ajax attacks with a spear to right. He is equipped with a Corinthian helmet, round shield (in three-quarter view; blazon: two half-circles with concentric arcs, and a horizontal red line), a cuirass worn over a short chiton, a scabbard, and greaves. Cassandra is depicted as a very small figure, wearing a peplos. She flees to the statue of Athena, which faces left. The goddess wears her aegis over her long chiton, and is armed with an Attic helmet, a spear, and shield (which overlaps Cassandra’s head). Behind Athena, a warrior advances to left, with a Corinthian helmet, spear, round shield (blazon: ivy wreath), scabbard, cuirass, short chiton, and greaves.
The panel is framed above by a band of unenclosed tongues, and at the sides are one glaze line on the left and two on the right. A pair of red lines encircle the vase below the decorative panel.

The jug has a trefoil mouth, flattened on the topside, with a red line on the edge at the front spout. The ridged handle is partially glazed, and rises above the level of the lip. Its lateral extensions terminate in rotellae decorated with added red. On the neck, above the panel, a collar bordered above and below by ridges is ornamented with hanging rays. The upper edge of the panel is accentuated by a red line on the ridge at the join of the neck and shoulder. The torus foot is glazed on the top and side; its lower edge and underside are reserved. Graffito on the underside of the foot.
