Auschwitz

'Auschwitz' is an oxidised iron sculpture that Karl Schmid worked on all his life. In a kind of 'ritual of remembrance', he added a spike every year to commemorate the tragedy of the holocaust. It is thus one of his most important works against the horrors of war.
