This trophy was presented to Frank Eyre by the Dunlop Perdriau Rubber Company as a record of his win in the 1930 Australian Open Golf Championship, held at the Metropolitan Golf Club in Melbourne. The 1.62" Dunlop Perdriau golf ball, used by Eyre to win the competition, is mounted on three silver golf clubs on silver dome and wooden base.

Frank ‘Happy’ Eyre was Long Reef Golf Club’s professional for over forty years from 1922. A champion golfer, his victories included the prestigious Sun-Herald Tournament (1926) and both the Queensland Open and Australian Open in 1930. He later served as a director of the NSW PGA and a state selector. Happy’s sporting prowess was not limited to golf. He represented NSW in rugby union and was a member of Manly Swimming Club and North Steyne Surf Club.
