On 9 October 1915 Juhan Biik, Hindrik Eiden, Juhan Varberg and Rein Rumberg were supposed to convoy two Austrian prisoners of war to Rakvere. Near Hulja manor the prisoners fled into the forest.
Everything took place fast, there was no point in pursuing, one Austrian left only his cap behind. The convoy was unarmed and couldn’t do anything. The farm boys who were in charge of the convoy were hauled before a court, though.
