'Autumn Flowers' wallpaper was produced by Morris & Co. The pattern is formed of ogee shapes of rose branches laden with rose hips, cobnuts, tulips, acanthus leaves and smaller flowers in autumnal tones of red and yellow. The design is attributed to William Morris, c.1888 although has more in common with the wallpaper designs of Morris & Co.’s chief designer John Henry Dearle, who favoured flat patterns around this time. This example is stamped down the right edge 'MORRIS & Co' and 'AUTUMN FLOWERS'. It was formerly in the possession of Sir Raymond Unwin (1863-1940), architect, secretary of the Manchester branch of the Socialist League and acquaintance of William Morris.
