Azimuth Notebook for Viking Lander 1 SOL1: shows the Azimuth chart plans to take an addition image of the area surrounding the footpad. Sometimes the same view was taken multiple times at diffrerent times of the Martian Day or different days. It was using this seeming repetitive technique that some theories first arose, such as when the frost was first seen in an image and was later seen to change in another image of the same azimuth settings from a different time of day.
