Slazenger developed the B51 golf ball in 1950. It became extremely popular and considered one of the best balls in the world. It is reputed that the ball was named after Patricia Borthwick, an outstanding amateur golfer who won four Australian championships and six New South Wales championships. She also represented Australia ten times.
