This specimen represents the second holotype of vertebrates acquired by NMNS zoologists (The first one is Rana sauteri multidenticulata Chou and Lin 1997) who have been endeavoring for herp. collections. This species is named after Dr. Jun-Yi Lin, herpetologist, ecologist, and environment activist. This frog was collected from Yunnan, China. A total of seven Babina species, including Taiwan’s B. adenopleura and B. okinavana, have been found in Vietnam, western and southern China, Taiwan, and Ryukyus, suggesting a close biogeographical relationship among these areas.
