Riga, Latvia

The beautiful Bacchante is elegantly reclining on an animal skin with her elbows resting on a wine sack. She is holding a wine pitcher from which she has just drunk. The fair maiden’s head is adorned by Bacchante’s crown of grape vines. The sculpture is characterised by sophistication yet at the same time it is sentimental and beautified. Bacchante is lyrically idyllic – no one can pass her by and remain indifferent.
