Cloth back apron about two inches long, heavily beaded on the lower half with linto and oblongs of blue, red, green, white, yellow and some beads and small seashells. It is fringed with small strings of beads made by married women from beads and cloth bought from a shop. The sewn with thread made by women from fiber obtained from the roots of murungua tree. Long ago they used to use skin instead of clothes that are being used now. The apron is worn by women at ceremonies particularly when dancing a dance called mwari with their husbands. It is worn with the small front apron(mshuru) and strings of blue and red beads(mukonya) round the waist. It was never sold in the market but could be exchanged for a sheep or goat and a cow if heavily beaded.
