Balance

eL Seed's sculpture 'Balance' ( توازن ) measures 120cm in length but stands on a single point. The stainless steel work holds a single word but a lifetime of work. It is an amalgamation of many letters of different shapes and dynamics that come together in perfect synergy. It also summarises the artist’s identity in that he is French yet comes from Tunisian roots and uses the Arabic script as a way of translating messages all over the world. In one piece of art, eL Seed has presented a metaphor for his entire practice. (Commissioned by Tashkeel)
