Balthazar's banquet

The painter represents, with a strong descriptive feel, the episode of the Bible in which, during Balthazar’s banquet, the guests had drunk from the sacred vases stolen from Jerusalem Temple. For this profanation, the king was punished with the loss of his reign and with death.
