The City Pillar of Bangkok was erected by the order of King Buddhha Yodfa (Rama I), the founder of Bangkok. The erection ceremony was done on 21 April 1782. An additional pillar was added by the order of King Mongkut (Rama IV) in 1852. This photo was assumed to be taken during the reign of King Rama V (1868-1910).
