Suffragette banner. Rectangular, Green, black, silver and white. On one side is painted 'Votes for Women; WSPU Ilford; Thrice is he armed that hath is quarrel Just in white paint, with Sylvia Pankhurst's trumpeting angel design and two smaller paper motifs cut out and applied on either side. On the other, 'From Prison to Citizenship' with a border of silver arrows pasted on. The banner has been re-used. Under the paint can be seen faded white paint announcing the Great Procession of Saturday June 18th 1910. The wording reads 'Great Procession Saturday June 18 Westminster Embankmnet to the Albert Hall Form up 5.30 Start 6.30 Women come and march in the procession. This banner was made and carried by members of the Ilford branch of the militant Women's Social and Political Union.
