"This quilt, featuring five dogs, is Sharon's own interpretation of a quilt show's "dogwood" theme. The tree with the obviously baying dog is empty, but if you look closely you will discover that four other trees contain dogs. Sharon is known as the "dog lady" in her guild because she has made more than 60 quilts containing dogs. For this quilt, which was machine appliquêd and quilted, each tree was constructed as a separate unit and then applied to the hand painted muslin background fabric."
