Barred Owls have binocular vision, which means their eyes face forward and can't move! This is great for hunting when it's dark but it also means they have to turn their head to look in a new direction. Imagine how sore their necks must be! Good thing they have extra vertrebrae in there (14 vertebrae instead of the seven that mammals have).
