Basketball

Invented in the 1891, basketball rapidly developed as an American sport. The YMCA encouraged the spread of the new game and Vanderbilt University and Geneva College both played landmark games in 1893. This laced Spalding from the late 1920s or early 1930s helps document the game's popularization.
