Bateman's, Burwash, East Sussex

Bateman's was built by John Brittan, a prosperous iron-master, in 1634 and prior to 1760 was called Lane Bridge.It was bought by the journalist and novelist Rudyard Kipling in 1902, who occupied it until his death in 1936.
