Battle of Barbagianni, nearby Pisa

The painting shows an episode of the war against Pisa, occurred on the 30th of June 1550: it is the attempt of the French infantry, allied to the Florentines, to attack the city of Pisa after creating a gap of thirty metres in the city walls near Barbagianni.
