Bauya Railway Station

Black and white photograph depicting passengers waiting to join the train from Freetown to Bo at Bauya. To change from the main line train to the branch line train at Bauya, passengers had to cross the railway line to get from one platform to the other. This was facilitated by the subway, seen in this picture, taking them underneath the railway track. This photograph is part of the collection of the Sierra Leone National Railway Museum which was founded in 2004. The Museum is based in Cline Town, Freetown, Sierra Leone and tells the story of the construction, development and operation of the railways in Sierra Leone.
