A selection of plaques marking moments in the history of the United Kingdom created for the 2016 BBC landmark series Black and British: A Forgotten History.
The four part series is a fresh approach to British history and demonstrates the enormous contribution black people have made to shaping our world. In the films, specially-commissioned BBC Black History Plaques are unveiled at locations across Britain and the Commonwealth. The plaques record and celebrate people, places and events that are pivotal to this new history.
The series headlines the BBC's wider Black and British season, November 2016, celebrating the achievements of black people in the UK and exploring the rich culture and history of black Britain.
