“Beato de Lièbana" presents a commentary on the Apocalypse written by the abbot of Liébana in the eight century and found in a finely illustrated Mozarabic manuscript. The commentary and the description of the miniatures are by Umberto Eco, who has repeatedly stated that the inspiration to write a novel with a medieval setting, the famous "The Name of the Rose", came to him during his work on this Spanish Codex.
