After serving as a military barracks and prison during the second world war, the Tower of London resumed its role as a tourist attraction. New signage, such as this example designed by the Ministry of Works for the Beauchamp Tower, provided visitors with information about the Tower's history, while encouraging them to seek further information from the Tower’s resident guardians, the Yeomen Warders.
