The walls of the Beauchamp Tower are coloured pale orange in this drawing, while the houses adjoining the medieval tower are shown in pink to distinguish them as modern buildings. These included accommodation for the Tower’s residents, which were removed during the restoration of the tower by Anthony Salvin and the Office of Works in the 1850s.
