In the Academy's Librarian's Report of the Annual Meeting, April 24, 1918, this work was noted as received. The Council Minutes of May 6, 1918 note the work was accepted as the artist's diploma presentation. Both citations however list the view incorrectly as "Becky's Point."
This snow covered coastal scene is a late example of Rosen's impressionist style. Although broadly rendered and directly observed, Rosen's emphasis on the high horizon confines and flattens the space, suggesting his later interest in modernism.
