The beer calabash (Ngaswai) is made of gourds extracted from Silangwa plant. It is filled with bark of Lolotwo tree and water after cutting the top part off and left in the sun near the river bank for almost a week before the contents are removed. Its handle is made from sisal thread. It is used by village elders to carry beer from marriage ceremonies to their homes.
