On October 14, 1947, the experimental Bell X-1 rocket plane became the first aircraft to punch through the sound barrier - one of aviation's greatest technological obstacles. Air Force Captain Chuck Yeager piloted the historic flight and named the aircraft "Glamourous Glennis" in honor of his wife. (Full-scale, High-Fidelity Replica)
