This image, showing the Whipp Inn, is from a set of images which chronicles the replacement of Route 66 across northern Arizona with Interstate 40. Many of the buildings and locations depicted in these images either went out of business and became abandoned or were condemned with the construction of I-40. Fronske Studio was hired by the Arizona Highway Department to take the photos, which are now held in the Fronske Studio collection at NAU.
