Physical Description: Sample of cut pile wool moquette with brown fabric bound edges and two eyelets. The pattern is a geometric 'grid' of brown and plum lines design on a fawn background. This design known as 'Grid' or 'Belsize', was produced in a number of colourways and is believed to date from around 1936. It is known to have been in use on Metropolitan and District line stock from around 1940.
