A resist-dyed ikat pattern comprising double-weave warp and weft was utilized to produce this exquisite patolu, which was created in India’s state of Gujarat for export to the Indonesian market. It is believed that this particular example was used either as a sash or bustier by women in the Peranakan region of Indonesia.
