Belvedere Court incorporates fifty-six flats in three linked ranges. It was built in 1937-8 to designs by Austrian architect Ernst Freud for the Church Esate Commissioners. Freud emigrated to England in 1933, several years before his father Sigmund, the founder of psychoanalysis, fled Vienna to escape Nazi persecution.
