Berlin Typo: a photobook project

kulturspace had the pleasure of collaborating with thirty talented photography students from Fotoskolan STHLM - Sweden’s most prominent photography school, in producing this photographic tour of Berlin’s typography.

The goal was simple: to capture varied perspectives of Berlin's typography by focusing the lens on commonly overlooked details. We pushed the students to capture the cool, ugly, time-tested, modern, dated, iconic and mysterious typography that makes up the Berlin landscape.

Over a two-week period, the thirty students hit the streets of Berlin in teams of two, documenting their tour of the city streets through their creatively trained lenses.
From abandoned building signs to bauhaus type, neon letters to street signs the photographers built a portfolio of a diverse archive of typo inspired images. If you fancy going on a digital photographic tour of Berlin’s typo, we welcome you to immerse yourself in the image gallery.
