The Beta is a neckpiece usually worn as additional ornament for the Malay bride in Negeri Sembilan or Perak states. It is intricately sewn using metallic thread which is known as gaim embroidery. The motif and design of shrubs are embroidered on every ‘petal’ of the neckpiece. Today, the beta neckpiece is mostly used by traditional and cultural dance troupes.
