The carpet was created by Marvadia, Bezalel School of Arts and Crafts, (1906-1929)

Signed: “Marvadia Jerusalem”

Inscription: “A cry is heard in Ramah – wailing, bitter weeping – Rachel weeping for her children . . .” (Jeremiah 31:15); on the outer border, the word “Zion” recurs in a row of Stars of David Marvadia, Bezalel, Jerusalem, 1920−31
