A half-length portrait of a working-class man, a work by Jesús Moncada. The man, with a face marked by years of labor, looks at the viewer with a serious and reflective expression, dressed in simple clothing. His posture, firm and direct, conveys a sense of contained strength, while the background, blurred and lacking details, enhances the focus on the individual.
Jesús Moncada (Mequinenza, 1941-2005) has been recognized by critics as one of the best contemporary writers of the 20th century. For many years, he combined his passion for literature and painting, which began during his youth in the Old Town of Mequinenza.
