Weaved in Gold

This piece is inspired by my own personal experience as a dark-skinned girl with course hair. I was often bullied for looking the way I do but since interacting with more people like me, I've become more comfortable in my own skin. This painting is a message to the younger me, as well as any young girl that struggles with the same body image issues I did.
