The bhiksu has a long and round face and appears to be in his middle ages with shaved hair and a moustache. His firm expression reflects the dignity of the literary class. This artwork was sculpted at the northern Cizhou kiln. It was first shaped with pottery clay, applied with white makeup clay, and then painted with iron glaze.
