The Bhotiyas are a nomadic people in the Kumauni region of Uttarakhand, India. Traditionally, the Bhotiyas migrated to the Tibetan plains during the summer, where they would weave carpets and other textiles (called Chuktas and Thulmas) from Tibetan sheep wool to trade with other nomadic groups.
