The European middle class took enthusiastically to porcelain with the result that many articles for personal hygiene were ordered from China in the later years of the eighteenth century, with specific characteristics: a landscape in the blue and white and a length of up to 90 cm.
The bidet is thought to have been invented in France in the eighteenth century.
