Bifaces are pointed tools with continuous edges on both sides. Appearing in the Lower Paleolithic, they are considered one of the most characteristic Acheulean tools. Their discovery is related to the presence of Homo heidelbergensis and Neanderthal. They were useful tools that were used manually or attached to a shaft to cut, knock or scrape any surface such as meat, wood, leather or bone.
