The broadsheet shows two men portrayed in a typecasting manner in their regional garments facing each other with hostile stares: a mustachioed Greek with a rifle and a Turk with red fez who is sticking his tongue out. The caricature refers to the fraught relations between Greeks and Turks when Greece was still a part of the Ottoman Empire (until 1830).
