Bintu Lamidi worked for decades with the New Sacred Art Movement as a labourer. She mixed the cement for Susanne Wenger up until Susanne stopped working in the Groves in the late 1990s at the age of 85.
Bintu continues to work as a member of the New Sacred Art restoration team! At the age of almost 80, Bintu is both a labourer, as seen carrying rocks in this photograph, and an artisan. She mixes cement and assists in the first steps of the restoration process. Now she works most closely with her old friend and New Sacred Art artist, Adeyemi Oseni. Bintu Lamidi also creates imaginative small cement figures which are sold in the shop in Susanne Wenger’s house on Ibokun Road.
