Birnbeck Pier, Birkett Road, Weston-super-Mare, North Somerset

Birnbeck Pier, or the Old Pier, connects Birnbeck Island with the mainland at Weston-super-Mare. The pier was designed by Eugenius Birch and opened in 1867. In the early 20th century, the pier and island offered a variety of amusements for visitors, including a water chute and a switchback railway.
