Skokloster Castle

Skokloster Castle
Skoklosters, Sweden

Rumour has it that the Dean’s wife Christina Gangius fainted when she saw Bishop Carolus Carlsson’s well stocked silver chamber. The Bishop had wealthy parents and also married into wealth. It was rumoured, as well, that the Bishop was the illegitimate child of King Charles X, which was the supposed reason for his ecclesiastical career. The jug is marked with the names of the Bishop and his first wife, Margareta Svebilia (1659-1688).
