The velvet, unusual and somewhat researched for the technical solution, is decidedly rare for the color, among the most difficult to obtain and among the most fragile to preserve. The technical solution of the velvet breaks down the one color scheme into three different shades: the decorative motif, in deep, intense hue, is prominent on the lighter background, in shades just a little darker than the outline of the design. The design is influenced by early seventeenth-century fashion with a naturalness that is the result of a different view of the botanical world.
