Performances in the Georgian Theatre Royal since its re-opening in 1963 have often celebrated the repertoire of the late 18th and early 19th century stage. This is a poster for a revival of the melodrama, Black-Ey’d Susan or or, All in the Downs, written by Douglas Jerrold in 1829 and brought to Richmond by the Inner London Education Authority and an amateur theatre society, the Stewart Headlam Shakespeare Association.
