Black Marlin (Makaira indica) are large predators, which have the upper jaw greatly lengthened and spear-like. They use their strong bony bills to hit and stun their prey, which includes many kinds of schooling fish. Black Marlin travel long distances, moving with the seasons. They congregate in the Timor Sea, to the north of Australia, between October and March, where it is presumed that they spawn.
