The Albert Blancafort workshop, with a tradition of almost 100 years in organ building, is located in the small town of Collbató (Barcelona), at the foot of the Montserrat mountain, a nerve centre for organ building in the whole of the Iberian Peninsula. Its interest in building organs in a contemporary style and in finding new uses for the traditional organ is worthy of note, and it has devoted considerable resources to R&D and acoustic research in collaboration with several universities. The most important works for which they have received international recognition are the Auditorium of Tenerife, the Basilica of Montserrat, the Temple of the Sagrada Familia and the Palau Güell.
