Fashion Focus Finalist Bloke shown at Lagos Fashion Week 2018. Titled ‘A Collection about Nothing’ explores the boundaries of knitwear and tailoring inspired by the avant-garde Dada art movement. Bloke, and androgynous brand from Nigeria is known for its innovative approach to knitwear, a category largely overlooked in contemporary African fashion, and therefore ripe for experimentation. Fashion Focus Africa is a program that is dedicated to the growth and promotion of emerging talent in the African fashion industry. Fashion Focus presents unique opportunities for emerging talents to harness their skills through business development workshops, creative workshops, and mentorships. Finalists each year are awarded the opportunity to show on the Lagos Fashion Week runway alongside their favourite established brands. Designers discovered on the Fashion Focus have returned year after year and are now some of the most anticipated shows every year.
